Amazon Is Cannibalizing Your SALES...Or Is It?

Everybody, I want to talk about a myth.

A myth regarding Amazon.

A lot of brands are worried about selling on Amazon because they're afraid it's gonna cannibalize the sales on their website or elsewhere.

I've got news for you, 60% of people that are looking for products they go directly to Amazon, they're not even going to Google. They're not going elsewhere.

They're going directly to Amazon to look for your product.

So, if they don't find your product on Amazon, guess what? They may not be purchasing it.

They are gonna get served ads from other brands. They're going to see other product listings, and they're likely to purchase on there because Amazon makes it so easy to purchase products.

So, when you're thinking about just brand visibility in general, but also when you think about sales people are going directly to Amazon to look for your products. Now you might be wondering, how are we going to get access to people, because now they’re looking on Amazon and they’re purchasing on Amazon?

According to Statista, about 250 million people are active on social media in the US, so that's about three quarters of the population at about 330 million people, so people are going to be looking for your brand. They're gonna be researching it outside of Amazon because they're active on social media, but it's important that you get that first touch point right.

If you're not on Amazon, even from a brand visibility perspective. I know brands that want to get into Whole Foods and they have to show their products on Amazon first. Show that they've got positive reviews, that their product is liked.

So even just from a brand visibility standpoint, if you're not showing up on Amazon, there's a likelihood that people are not going to know about your product and they're not going to purchase your product.

Get on Amazon.

Get your product visible even if you're not generating a ton of revenue.

You want to make sure that your product is getting in front of people that it has good ratings, good reviews, and that it's represented well.

I'll talk to you guys later.
